I lost my files. What should I do?

The most important thing in recovering data from any device is the expertise and method used by the technician or technical company.
It is common for owners of problematic storage media to try to fix the issue themselves or turn to inexperienced people, resulting in even more damage, reducing the chances of data recovery.
Therefore, when critical files are lost, choosing who will intervene carefully in your media is extremely important.

Is Data Recovery from a Mobile Phone Always Possible?
Unfortunately, the data recovery rates from mobile phones are not as good as those from hard drive data recovery.
In fact, TicTac Data Recovery has the most modern equipment and expertise, but the cases we receive are becoming increasingly difficult.
This is because in order to recover data from a mobile phone, we need to read/hack the phone’s internal memory. Accessing the phone’s internal memory is very time-consuming and almost unique to each mobile phone.
In practice, we need to find a way to access the internal memory and bypass the protection mechanisms of the following:
- the device manufacturers (e.g., Samsung, Apple, LG, Sony, etc.)
- the operating system (e.g., Android, iOS, Symbian, etc.)
- individual applications (e.g., Viber, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, etc.)
We also need the deleted data to still be intact and not overwritten by new user data.
The chances of recovering data from a mobile phone decrease when new data is added, especially in the following cases:
- Installing new applications
- Restarting the mobile phone (temporary files are being written)
- Internet browsing (temporary files are written)
- Use of applications (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, etc.)
Below is some of the vital information:
- From a mobile phone reset to factory settings (Android/iOS), the success rates are particularly low.
- It must be a phone purchased several years ago and without software updates. Data cannot usually be recovered from a Symbian phone.
- Nothing can usually be recovered from a recent iPhone 5+ at a reasonable price, as Apple has implemented strict protection systems.
- From mobile phones that have an Android operating system and are manufactured after 2017, the recovery rates are very low, even from deleted data.
- Audio files are particularly rare to recover on Android versions older than version 5.0 as they become fragmented upon deletion.
- Video files are very rare to recover from mobile phones as new data is usually written over them.
- Image files are especially rare when recovering from iOS 6+ and Android versions.
